At MPa Hair Shop, language, bodies, and everyday life are transformed and made unfamiliar. Conversations unfold without a full understanding of one another’s languages, turning into musical sound and noise, while auto-generated subtitles misread what is said and produce new sentences. These misaligned languages can no longer offer any connection to one another.

Interconnected haircut capes and gowns, hair and hands, microphones that collect sound and speakers that emit it, phones and laptops used for video calls all attempt to bind one another in different ways. Yet the disconnection remains unresolved, leaving only traces behind.

Opening with this performance and running until October 31, MPa Hair Shop will offer the MPa Haircut that Yoda and Plasticproduct designed together and exclusive products for purchase.
